If you log into your account on Google Maps, right-click anywhere on the screen or type your business address on the search bar, navigate to Add Your Business, and then enter all the required information. Otherwise, you can complete this process on Google’s My Business page so that your business information shows up on Google Maps after that. Follow the step-by-step guide below:

Add My Business On Google Maps

Step 1: Create a Google business account; if you already have one, sign into it on the My Business site.

Step 2: On the My Business page, choose Manage Now, then type in your brand name in the designated bar and click Create a business with this name.

Step 3: Enter your business name and category, like a restaurant, convenience store, hair salon, etc., on the next page. After that, click on Next.

Step 4: The following page will ask whether you want to publish your business’s location on Google Search and Google Maps. Click Yes so that your customers can find you online. For small businesses that run at your private house, you can choose No to ensure your privacy. Then, select Next.

Step 5: If you click Yes on Step 4, the next step is to provide your company’s address to increase your online presence, notably on Google Maps. For a No, you have to clarify your service areas in this step. After that, click on Next.

Step 6: Provide more contact information, like your business phone number and website URL. If you don’t have a website, click on Get a free website based on your info so that Google will create a free one for you, then hit Next to move to the next step.

In case you skip this step, you will be required to provide your mailing address, which will be set in private, to help Google verify your business. 

Step 7: Verify your business by mail, phone, or email. You can do this step instantly if you have a Google Search Console account and your website has been verified. 

Suppose you have more than 10 physical locations; select Chain after verifying your identity. Google will ask you for some other information and process your verification for about one week.

Step 8: Now, you can set up and modify your Google business profile, like business hours, descriptions, logos, photos, more products or services, etc. And you are good to go!

How To Claim Your Business On Google?

Once you have finished 8 steps above, your business has already been claimed. However, if you select Verify later, you can claim your business easily with 3 steps below:

Step 1: Sign into your business account on Google Maps.

Step 2: Type your brand name correctly on the search bar and click on the right one.

Step 3: Select Claim this business and then Manage now. Then, choose a verification option that is the most convenient for you and follow the instructions. This step is similar to step 7 in the previous part.

How To Add Multiple Locations On Google My Business

If you wonder how to add a second business location on Google, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Log into your business account on Google and select Manage Now on the top right corner of the page.

Step 2: In the tab Business, navigate to Add Business. On the drop-down menu, choose Add single business.

Step 3: You will have to enter all the required information, similar to when you create a new business profile (in section 1). The last step is to verify your listing.

In case you add 2 locations on Google My Business or even more, repeat the 4 steps above and verify each location separately. However, for more than 10 locations, you have to select Import Businesses on the drop-down menu in step 2 and follow the on-screen instructions.

Add A User

Step 1: Log into your account and navigate to Business Profile.

Step 2: Select the three-dot menu, choose Business Profile settings, and then People and Access

Step 3: Click on Users on the left, then provide your email address or your name.

Step 4: You are now the Primary Owner of your business. If you wonder how to add a manager on Google My Business, choose Manager as the new user’s role. Otherwise, select Owner and click Invite.

Your invitation is now pending. If the invitee accepts this new role, Google will send a notification via your email. This new manager or owner is not authorized to manage the business profile during the first 7 days.

In case you change your mind, click the X button to cancel the invitation before the invitee accepts it.

How To Remove An Owner Or Manager

Step 1: Sign into your business account and go to Business Profile.

Step 2: Click on the three-dot menu, select Business Profile settings, and then Managers.

Step 3: Choose the manager or owner you want to delete and click Remove person.

Let’s say you can’t remove the selected person, it may indicate:

  • That person could be the primary owner. You need to transfer this role to another one.
  • Your current role is a manager, and you’re not allowed to remove other managers or owners in your business.
